The Pride of Peakland

The Tower
I was in need of a good Peak District walk with glorious scenery and a remote atmosphere, somewhere with a bit of everything from woodland to rocky scrambles via bleak moorland. I also wanted a nice lonely tarn to sit beside too, but this criteria seemed a bit much to ask from a walk in Peakland!

And then I remembered a place that I’ve wanted to visit for a long time which just might give me what I was after, Alport Castles, the scene of reputedly the biggest landslide in Britain.

Did it live up to expectations? Damn right it did, and I can’t wait to get back there as soon as I can. If you’ve not had the pleasure then I hope these shots persuade you to go and take a look…you won’t be disappointed!
